Modern scroll coffee table

Modern scroll table with smooth top and downwards curly ends. Very heavy wood. Ideal as side table or as an accent table at the end of a bed.
During the Qing dynasty, the Chinese scholar’s room was filled with art and luxury objects representing the scholar’s intellectual and artistic pursuits. Besides law and philosophy, a scholar was trained in painting and calligraphy; this scroll table represents the scholar’s aesthetic refinement.
