Piece of decorated and embroidered textile that was once part of a traditional baby carrier. The textile is dark indigo-black with beautiful detailed embroideries, including stylised butterflies. This old and original embroidery comes from the Miao minority tribe in China. Baby carriers are an important part of a Miao woman’s dowry. They are also a prestigious addition to the elaborate clothing worn by Miao people.
Hung on a black MDF backing and framed in a perspex case (approx. 5 cm deep). Can also be purchased without the MDF and its perspex casing (very easy and cheap to transport).
