Pair of finely woven food baskets

Pair of double layered, square woven food baskets with lid. The lid is decorated with woven Chinese characters 迎来送往 and the bamboo rims are decorated with off-white stitches. Each handle has a bronze hook. The baskets communicate reciprocity, the social etiquette of bringing something when visiting someone and welcoming visitors in turn. Given during winter, in December 1926. Quality is very good. The price is per pair.
